This couple is getting married next year. Nelson is actually a fraternity brother of mine. He’s of the charter class. It was strange i met Jen at a fraternity event he introduced her to me and my girlfriend and a year later they’re engaged!
So he asked me to take his photos and now they’re asking me to shoot their wedding. I decided to take them on a tour of Detroit while taking the Detroit people mover. You’ll notice all the stops where we shot were on the people mover stop. I remember on this day that the Red Wings were playing that day as well and there were a bunch of Penguin fans everywhere. It was ugly they were all drunk and belligerent and talking trash.
I took jen & nelson on a tour of Detroit for their engagement session last month. It was just starting to get warm. Too bad it’s still not warm enough. Summer seems like it just started here in Detroit. We walked around the new riverwalk. There’s a great area resting. Theres some well done landscaping around the new riverwalk. It’s definately beautiful and i’m very proud of the Detroit Renovation.
Some Camera Crews were actually there. This is the Renaissance center for you non-Detroiters. This was about the time GM was about to go bust. Right before it. I joked about it while we were entering the Rennaissance Center. It of course eventually happened.
This is an obvious favorite spot of mine. The fox theater has brought so many memories to my clients as well as myself. In fact i my first show was there. The Fox District has so many great sites. Including the state theater (now filmore), the Detroit Tiger Stadium (fine it’s called Comerica Park) home of 30,000 or so seats and the largest scoreboard in Major League Baseball and in addition to Ford Field.
The Fox district has it’s charm it’s also of great memories to me. I went to see the Mighty Mighty Bosstones back in the day. I was 13 and it was my 2nd show/concert. Dropkick murphy was on the bill as well. They played at the state theater. Of the greatest shows in my life that i’ll never forget.
This is greektown. You can barely see the trappers alley sign. There’s too many great greek smells in this area. I’m hungry now. Haha. This was actually the clients favorite and will probably be on their “save the date” magnets.
For the photographers: This was shot at greektown. Thanks to the new Greektown casino tower the couple was light by the reflection. Worked out perfectly for me.
