August 31st is the last day to cast votes for WDIV’s 4 the Best list. Prem & Cheridy from Arising Images is pretty close to winning. Before they took down the polls they were 1% away from the top. If you haven’t voted for me for the WDIV 4 the best list please count your vote toward his cause. I would much rather see him win than anyone else. wdiv.cityvoter.com
The 31st is the last day to vote. Thanks for supporting me anyways! Maybe next year. Go arising images!

I’ve never seen a bride try to do an entrance dance like Annah & Tyler. But yes less text more photos. The ceremony was at [tag]University United Methodist Church[/tag]. Their reception was shot at [tag]Eagle Eye Golf Course[/tag].

I shot this at Sparty. Meet Annah & Tyler. In this photo I told her to play kiss tag with Tyler. She was rather reluctant but after a little playing I quickly snapped this shot and she had the most excited and real expression. I was rather excited about this photo. I wanted to break the cliches of taking wedding photos at the sparty statue. It’s difficult; Sparty is so literal.

She was the center of attention all day. Especially her booty; something her father mentioned. What I love how each bridesmaid’s feelings were exuded by just body language alone. Very easy shot no posing or fussing or saying one word was involved (A tribute to Chris Jarvis’ latest post).

I’m a big fan of details. Only because they tell a story too. The decisions a bride and groom make into their wedding day tells their personal preferences. Especially with food. Small details and moment are so ephemeral. This interest exudes my propensity to be very persnickety with even small iotas or nuances of change.

This is probably my favorite part of the wedding. It’s first dance. I’m a big fan of moving a lot to get a shot. I feel this is one of the most challenging parts of the wedding. Except when I encounter ceremonies in the dark.

This one struck me because I’ve never seen a groom look back at the photographer. Most the time they’re so enamored and living the moment seldom do they look back at me during the first dance. Is he possibly feeling buyers remorse (Something me and his best men were joking about).?

This has to be the nicest thing about Eagle Eye Athletic Club. The view is pretty spectacular and the balcony is quite a treat for the guests to relax.

Too many aviators! They decided to orchestrate everyone outside the balcony with aviators. Theres a beautiful view behind them of eagle eye golf course. Too bad it was a bit dark.

Oh and finally, one of my favorites in terms of color. Cake cutting of course.

I find informational data when presented visually sometimes aesthetically pleasing. I found this on my friends facebook profile and thought it was rather interesting as well. Guess I’m a dork for liking something like this:

The point is all your friends are listed on here in a wheel and if they know each other they have a line connected the two connections. It reminds me of a petri dish.

Yesterday, I spoke at Spark in Ann Arbor about Choosing the right JavaScript library for your web design project or web site. It was a pleasure to meet you all. I was very impressed by the various different depths and levels of each others talent. By pooling together our collective knowledge we were able to accomplish a very informative discussion on Javascript Libraries. As I said previously I’m I’ve uploaded the slideshow to slideshare.net.

This isn’t related to photography but just putting the word out. I’m speaking at a Refresh Detroit meeting today about Web Design; More specifically Javascript Libraries will be the topic of discussion. For those interested I’ll be speaking at 6:30pm at Ann Arbor Spark for 3 Point 7 Designs. If I get a chance I’ll take photos as well as put them up when I get the chance.

Had a blast with the wedding party. Their wedding was held all at the gem theater in Detroit right across from Ford Field. These are the photos I’ve second shot for Abby Rose Photo.

The wedding was cool. The two used to work at guitar center. Thus the flying V guitar cake.

Today I was waiting for a haircut at Douglas J in Ann Arbor so I had free time and spent my time perusing fashion magazines at Borders next door. Border really does have some great selection harder to find magazines. Some of the more obscure magazines from Europe really struck my eye. There was one English fashion magazine that Terry Richardson landed a cover- the type was very illegible and the name of the magazine was something ending in -id. It was a terrible photo but the concept was interesting and simple. It was a photo of couple making out and their negative space formed a heart.
What is v-man you ask? V-man is an amazing magazine I ran across. It’s a male fashion magazine and the photography & graphic design in it absolutely superb. I was most impressed by their simple layouts. I’ll definately have to get subscription when I can. Definitely refreshing.
If you’re interested in cheap magazines subscriptions esquire is usually rather cheap and they provide very excellent articles and photos. A great value I got my subscription for 3 dollars for the year.

We’ve been nominated last month for the best wedding photographer position in the listing. I’d like to be number one or at least make the top 4.
So far the shooting gallery is number 1 at 13% and fellow DWF’er Prem of Arising images is holding second place. Arising Images was first for a while but the shooting gallery some how just popped out of no where and is holding the top spot. So if you can please take the time to vote for Holy MoLee Photography:
This WED member, the Wedding Shoppe, is holding the top category of best wedding dresses. She definately deserves first place! Shes neck and neck with Gina’s bridal. he voting ends at the end of the month. Please help out!

After two months of optimizing my website for search engines; I’ve successfully moved my way up easily toward the first page of google search engine results. Currently, if you search for the terms “Detroit Wedding Photographer”, you’ll see we’re the 10th listing on there. We’ve finally passed Edwards wedding photography after 1 month of always being below them.
Holy MoLee Photography was no where to be found in the Detroit Wedding Photographer search engine results page. I’d like to thank ross at 3point7designs.com for his expertise in Search engine optimization and Search Engine Marketing for providing me with the tips and advice for positioning myself in Google’s search engine rankings.
